Pastel Painting - Zoom Workshop, March 16 6:30-8:30

 Greg Maichack presents ‘Dandelions’, a pastel painting workshop inspired by Jean-Francoise Millet.


Tuesday, March 16, 6:30-8:30pm online via Zoom.

Participants will pick up a package of materials from the Upton Library prior to the workshop, and then follow Greg Maichack’s instruction online to learn traditional pastel painting techniques and create their own artwork during the workshop.

Space is limited, registration is required.

Upton Library Summer Status


The Trustees of the Upton Town Library have determined that we cannot safely re-open the library building to the public before September 15, 2020.

In early September, the Trustees will review public health guidance and library procedures to decide when the library can safely re-open.

Until then, Upton Library will continue to offer Curbside pickup services, digital resources and virtual children’s programs.

Interlibrary loan has resumed, so we can access materials from neighboring libraries as well as our own collection.

Contact us to borrow Summer Reading books, new movies and bestsellers, to request specific titles, or get recommendations selected by library staff.

We can also assist with printing and faxing documents through curbside service, Tuesday 10am-8pm, Thursday 10am-8pm, Saturday 10am-4pm

Superhero Movie Night! Avengers: Endgame



Join us for Upton Library's Movie Day! Wednesday, February 19, at 5pm. 
We'll screen the movie AVENGERS ENDGAME, rated PG-13, in our Gathering Room. After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe.

Pastel Art Workshops, Tuesday Feb 11

Pastel Art Workshops
Free Art Workshop!  Take home your own painting!
Tuesday, Feb 11th  Upton Center, 2 Farm Street
 3:30-5:30pm  or   6:30-8:30pm 
 
Artist Greg Maichack returns to Upton on Tuesday, February 11, to teach two free workshops on pastel painting.

From 3:30 - 5:30pm, we'll paint "Starry Night" inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, and from
6:30 - 8:30, "Miracle Flowers" inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe.  Please choose only one workshop to attend.

Each workshop is a two-hour event that enables sheer beginners to advanced adults to hear how artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, van Gogh, and Monet painted.
The workshops offer participants interesting and entertaining historical information about the artists’ lives and painting techniques, a demo at easel, and participants’ own hands-on experience with pastels (all professional-grade materials supplied). All take home their own pastel painting still life. 

This program is free and open to members of the Upton community.  Space is limited, so pre-registration is required.  Register by visiting the Upton Town Library, calling 508-529-6272, or on our website, uptonlibrary.org


  Teens ages 13-18 are encouraged to attend “Starry Night”, all ages are welcome at either workshop.

Kids Movie Day: The LEGO Movie 2


Friday January 17 at 1pm
in the Library Gathering Room

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city.

It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.

The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.

Join us for a movie afternoon at the Upton Town Library!!

We're showing Ralph Breaks the Internet! Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope's video game, "Sugar Rush." In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet -- the netizens -- to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site BuzzzTube.
