Over Memorial Day Weekend, the Central Western Massachusetts
Automated Resource Sharing Library Network (C/W MARS) will be switching area
libraries to a new online catalog called Evergreen. Evergreen is an open-source software
application that will improve the user experience when accessing the libraries’
selection of books, audio-visual, and digital materials.
From Friday May 25
to Tuesday May 29, the C/WMARS system will be unavailable and patrons will not
have access to library accounts. Patrons
will be unable to place holds on library materials, renew items, book museum
passes or use some of the libraries' online resources such as the network sponsored
databases.
Patrons who use the wish-list and reading history functions
of the current catalog are advised that these lists will not be carried over to
the new system, but they can be exported or printed before the switch.
On Tuesday May 29, 2012, all patron passwords will be reset
to the user’s last name in all capital letters.
During this switch, Upton Town Library will be closed on Saturday, May 26th, and will reopen at 10am on Tuesday, May 29th.
