It is time for tax returns again, so I wanted to make sure everyone knows what resources are available at the Upton Town Library.
We have paper booklets with the Massachusetts State resident and non-resident tax forms and instructions, located in our entrance lobby.
We do not have extra booklets for Federal tax returns. The IRS strongly encourages use of it's website, and does not provide extra paper copies to libraries.
Upton Library provides free printing for up to 10 pages of tax forms. We have copies of the 1040, 1040ez, and schedules A+B at the desk. Any other federal forms you need, ask a librarian and we can print them out for you.
We can also help you access the instructions for the forms on the IRS website at any of our public internet workstations.
We have two reference books of Tax tips. On our new book display you will find "J.K. Lasser's Your Income Tax 2009", a general guidebook which is for in-library use only.
One of our patrons also recommended a resource for estimating the value of charitable deductions, called "Deduct It! Deduct It! 2009". This title can be checked out for home use.
