 Friends of the Upton Library are currently not able to accept donations.

Thank you for thinking of us, please hold your items until the Friends send a call for donations, or find another recipient.

Currently, Taft Library in Mendon is accepting donations until June 1.

Upton Library public computers now available

 Upton Library is now able to offer computer workstations for use by the public.

We have three computers available for walk-in use during our open hours, all with internet access, microsoft office and printing capabilities.

Computers can be used for 30 minute sessions, and our browsing time limit is also increased to 30 minutes.

Wipes and hand sanitizer are provided, we encourage patrons to clean to their comfort level before using the computers.

Fresh keyboards and mice are available on request.

Proposed Community Center Financial Info

This week, the Town of Upton is voting on a proposed new community center.

Town Meeting:  Saturday, May 8, 9am, Nipmuc Highschool.  Outdoors.  Rain Date Sat May 15.

Town Election: Tuesday, May 11, 7am-8pm, Town Hall.  Ballot Vote, early voting is available.

Financial Plan - These are the numbers that will be motioned at the Town Meeting.

Project cost:  $12,355,893

CPA funding for playground:  $520,000

Appropriate from Free Cash: $800,000

Borrow amount: $11,035,893

Length of loan: 25 years, each year the payments decline with year 1 being the highest payment

First year debt payment:  $660,000

Tax rate increase per $1,000:  $0.38

Increase to annual tax bill for an average assessed home of $450,000 :  $170
